Emergent Technology 3: Digital Photo
BubbleShare
I really enjoyed doing this. There were many layouts that you can choose from, and cute "stickers" you can add to photos. You can also add comments and photo titles. This is another good way to share photos with theme because it can be emailed to the parents. I suggest messing around a little and working looking at the different themes and everything that goes into it. I also suggest looking at all the different ways to post it...I couldn't find a way I liked, which is why I linked it so you could get the effect I wanted with it.

Emergent Technology 2: Scrapblog
a. Scrapblog
2) A summary of the emerging technology
a. In this emerging technology, instead of using money to print off the many pictures needed to make a scrapbook, you can accomplish it all online. You can start from scratch or you can use a template. You can make it for any project you’ve done, to
the fall party you have.
3) A personal testimony about learning to use the technology or the technology itself
a. I used this technology, but I used pictures of my senior year. I felt that this was an excellent tool for scrap booking and keeping memories accessible online. I liked the templates, and was intrigued by many of the Halloween ones, or one’s for different holidays. I like that you can use templates or make your own, depending on your situation and what you needed it for. I love the stickers and stamps you can add, to liven up your scrapbook and make it more creative. I would definitely use this technology in my classroom, and I would share it with all of my teacher friends to use as well.

5) Tips, suggestions, or visual aids
a. I suggest messing around with this program a lot. There is a lot that goes with it and it can be very helpful, but you won’t know what’s all there until you’ve messed around clicking on all the buttons.

Podcasting
Podcasting is when you can use a recording to help with learning. You can record a story you’re reading and have it play while you show the book. You can record directions to a project and have it saved on a file that everyone can access for those who can’t read. You can use it for many things. I found podcasting a very fun tool. I downloaded the required programs for it, and just played around recording myself and moving stuff around and making new things. For my podcast, I read the book Owl Moon and recorded it. It is something you can do for a class, especially if you have children that are hard of hearing, they can listen to this recording through headphones specially designed for them. I suggest using this for many things, it can be for any subject, and can especially be used for foreign languages. You could also make a PowerPoint and record what you were going to say, so people doing distant learning can watch the PowerPoint and hear the lecture as well.
My podcast is posted on oncourse under the podcast option.

Kaitlyn
My name is Kaitlyn Elaine Elkins. I'm considered a junior and I just transferred to IUPUI from USI where I left some really great friends.

I am currently working towards a degree in Elementary Education, and I love working with kids. I come from a rather large family, and I'm one of the oldest kids in the group. I spend a lot of family time, especially with my dad. He owns a T-Shirt business which I help him in, and we go hunting all the time, which happens to be my favorite hobby of all time right now.

Over all creating this post was rather easy. It was much like creating my myspace or facebook, I really enjoyed going through this site and setting everything up!
